Alcohol preserved ticks from the Pennsylvania Tick Survey 1989-1994

Nearly 50% of all ticks submitted for identification in Pennsylvania are the american dog tick (Dermactentor variabilis) followed by the Lyme disease tick (Ixodes scapularis).

Inquiries about tick identification should be made to the Pennsylvania Health Department or the Couny Cooperative Extension office.
