        Natural history
        Identification
        Sources of information about management recommendations
    Discuss broader topics of pest management as they relate to insect pest issues in agronomic crops

March 23	Corn Insects I; Pests below ground Discussion of Losey et al. paper
March 30	Corn Pests II; Pests above ground Discussion of Berenbaum paper
April 6	Small Grains Insects Discussion of the Food Quality Protection Act (FQPA)
April 13	Test (Corn and Small Grains Insects) Soybean Insects
April 20	Forage Crops Insects Discussion of terminator genes
April 27	Stored Products Insects Discussion of "crops as factories: GE at the next level"
May 4 6:30 p.m.	Test (Soybean, Forage Crops, Stored Products Insects)

Grading Policy:

5 discussion topics @ 6 points each

30 points

email me 2 written observations on the week's discussion topic by the Wednesday before class (1 point)
participation in class worth up to 5 points per discussion

3/16 discussion will be worth 6 points for in-class component

2 tests @ 35 points each

70 points

100 points

Letter grade will follow the same breakdown used in Entomology 313.
