The IPM CRSP Literature Search Service is available to all collaborators upon request at no charge. We also take requests from non-CRSP institutions, but these are processed as second priority. A request can be made by either electronically submitting the online request form, printing a form and mailing it, or by requesting a search with a visiting Penn State cooperator. Once a request is made, a search is done on the appropriate online databases at Penn State University. The search results, including title, source, keywords, and abstracts (if available), are presented to the researcher for review. They can then request hard copies of the most helpful references from the search. These chosen references are obtained from the library, copied, and mailed to the collaborating researcher via DHL Express Mail. Processing time for most requests is 2-3 weeks.
For non-CRSP institutions, searches are performed but handled as second priority. If the scientists would like hard copies of articles, a one-time-only mailing is sent via regular surface mail. The processing time could take longer than 3 weeks.
The list below shows some of the PSU databases that we can search for you.

Using these resources, we
can investigate any topic imaginable: rural sociology, pest management, family
issues, health/medical issues, crop production, specific crops and pests, regulations,
markets, economics, countries and geographic regions, international organizations
and institutions, people at institutions and their research and extension programs,
and more.
As we complete IPM CRSP literature searches, we are creating a searchable database archive of requested literature including a file of hard copies of actual research papers. The IPM CRSP Bibliographic Database contains references specific to the pest management concerns in the collaborating countries. To date, there are over 10,600 journal articles, book exerpts, conference proceedings and other references. We maintain this database using the software program Endnote® 4 for Windows. After a literature search is completed, all acquired reference citations are entered into the database. If a piece of literature is requested by the researcher, we file a hard copy of it and document this in EndNote. This searchable database is now available online at: http://ipmcrspref.ent.psu.edu/RIS/
